In its\u2019 place Sweeney constructed a concrete block building that currently houses our service bays. The front of the building was renovated and used a corner grocery store operated by Sweeney and his family for several years.<\/p><p><strong>The repair shop opened for business in 1948 and remains in business today. <\/strong>The grocery store has undergone several changes of use over the years. The store went from the Sweeney\u2019s to a tenant who ran the store for a few years. It was then converted to a drop store for Cadet Cleaners, a local laundry company from the 1960\u2019s through the early 1990\u2019s. Finally it was used as a jewelry store until 1998.<\/p><div id=\"nxs-pagerow-prid1577949839\" class=\"nxs-row nxs-not-unistyled nxs-rowtemplate-twothirdonethird \"><div class=\"nxs-row-container nxs-containsimmediatehovermenu nxs-row1\"><div class=\"ABC nxs-height100 \"><div class=\"XYZ nxs-valign-top \"><div class=\"nxs-placeholder-content-wrap nxs-crop \"><div id=\"nxs-widget-l1784515287\" class=\"nxs-widget nxs-widget-l1784515287 nxs-text \"><div class=\"nxs-default-p nxs-applylinkvarcolor nxs-padding-bottom0 nxs-align-left nxs-heightiq nxs-heightiq-p1-text \"><p>Upon the death of John Sweeney in 1989, control of the business fell to the current owner, Sweeney\u2019s youngest grandson Phil Basinski.\u00a0After earning a degree in education in 1986, Phil found himself with an opportunity in the repair business.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"ABC nxs-height100 \"><div class=\"XYZ \"><div class=\"nxs-placeholder-content-wrap nxs-crop \"><div id=\"nxs-widget-r1784515287\" class=\"nxs-widget nxs-widget-r1784515287 nxs-image \">In the late 1990\u2019s the service area was expanded and the storefront converted to a customer waiting area. We now provide full time employment that helps support four families while maintaining a responsible position in the community.<\/div><div id=\"nxs-widget-r1784515287\" class=\"nxs-widget nxs-widget-r1784515287 nxs-image \">\u00a0<\/div><div id=\"nxs-widget-r1784515287\" class=\"nxs-widget nxs-widget-r1784515287 nxs-image \">Sweeney\u2019s supports many local charities including\u00a0<strong>Boy Scouts<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Girl Scouts<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>High School clubs and sports, WNY Independent Living, Child and Family Services, Youth Baseball and Ice Hockey, Tonawanda Police, Kenilworth Volunteer Fire.<\/strong><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element
